This appointment will be different than a "normal" visit to the veterinarian! Our goal is to:
-
move at a slower pace
-
keep your pet as calm as possible
-
gather a lot of information
-
afterwards do an acupuncture treatment
To do all of this and make it a positive experience for you and your pet, please read the following guidelines.
Please do not feed any large meals for 1-2 hours before the appointment – but your pet should not be kept hungry. If on oral prednisone, please do not give this medication on the day of the appointment.
Your pet should be well-rested and not physically exhausted.
Since our goal is to create a quiet relaxed atmosphere, consider having only one family member come to the first appointment. We will be talking a lot about your pet’s history and background before the acupuncture treatment.
Once we know how your pet responds to acupuncture, and once he or she knows what to expect and is comfortable with it, more of the family is welcome to come to the treatment.
Please call if you have any questions prior to your appointment!
