Administering Medications

If the medication is a pill and can be taken with food, often all you need to do is put it in your pet’s regular food. If this doesn’t seem to work, try putting a dog’s pill in some peanut butter or bread.

You can also ask your vet about commercial pill pockets, or about pills that can be compounded into liquids. It is very important to always use medication as directed by your veterinarian.

If you have any questions about your pet’s medication, do not hesitate to call your veterinarian and ask. Never give your pet medication that has not been prescribed for them.
